A 2D Echo (echocardiogram) is an ultrasound of the heart. It shows the heart chambers, valves, pumping strength (ejection fraction) and blood flow. Doctors recommend it for breathlessness, chest pain, murmurs, high BP, or after a heart attack. It is painless, radiation-free and takes about 20–30 minutes.
The cost of a 2D Echo depends on whether you need a standard 2D Echo or a 2D Echo with GLS, and whether a cardiology consultation is included. Call +91 81043 18016 for the current price. The report is usually given the same day.
Not directly. A 2D Echo shows how well the heart muscle pumps and whether any area moves poorly, which can suggest reduced blood supply. To confirm blockages in coronary arteries, your cardiologist may advise a TMT, CT coronary angiography or angiography.
An ECG records the heart's electrical activity and detects rhythm problems or signs of a heart attack in minutes. A 2D Echo is an ultrasound that shows the heart's structure, valves and pumping. Neither is 'better' they answer different questions, and cardiologists often advise both.
TMT (treadmill test or stress test) records your ECG and BP while you walk on a treadmill at increasing speed. It checks how your heart handles exertion and can reveal blockages. It is not painful; you may feel tired or breathless, and it takes about 30–45 minutes including preparation.
A Holter monitor records your heart rhythm continuously for 24–48 hours during normal daily activities. It detects irregular heartbeats, palpitations, pauses and unexplained dizziness or fainting that a short ECG may miss. You must avoid bathing and keep the device dry while wearing it.
Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring (ABPM) records your blood pressure automatically every 15–30 minutes for 24 hours. It helps diagnose 'white-coat' hypertension, night-time high BP and checks how well BP medicines are working. Normal 24-hour average is below 130/80 mmHg.
An ECG takes only 5–10 minutes. The report is ready immediately and can be reviewed by our cardiologist during the same visit. Call +91 81043 18016 for current charges.
